Creep Away

Have you heard of Creep Away? I hadn’t either until a friend shared it with me last week.  It’s a spritz/perfume type thing that apparently emits an odor that only creeps can smell.  I heard that the odor is so bad it sends creeps running the other day.  My friend has used it and she says it is legit!  I may have to get a bottle the next time I go out!!

Kai checking out the horses

Kai started her horseback riding lessons on Sunday!  We visited the stable on Saturday and talked to the instructor about the lessons and met the horses.  The horses were quite intimidating at first because of their size and Kai was a little hesitant to commit but after more talking and learning about the lessons Kai signed on.  She started on Sunday with Oreo, a sweet pony that is great with kids.  Here are a few shots:

Mexican Lunch & Dirty Margaritas with Steven

March 12th, 2009 · No Comments

Saturday I caught up with my dear friend Steven. We had a fun lunch at Las Margaritas.  Everything was great until I saw disgusting goo around my margarita glass.  Besides being totally grossed out (I guess not for long because I ate my whole lunch) we enjoyed our patio lunch and caught up for a few hours.  I was supposed to stop by and meet Ben…his new puppy, (or should I say new to me), but I was tuckered out by the time I got home.  I hope to meet Ben later this week though.  Thanks Steven for the great company on Saturday!

Good Friends and Good Food

March 3rd, 2009 · 1 Comment

I had a great weekend catching up with friends.  On Thursday, I met Jeannette, Jim and Carolina for dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. (Hey, I love the salad bars!).  I haven’t visited with my favorite family in a while and we had a wonderful time catching up! I had my camera with me, but was so immersed in the conversation I forgot to take pics.

On Friday, I met Adrienne and Latoya for a quick (ha!) dinner at Liquid Ginger.  It’s been a while since I’ve been able to catch up with my girls, so I had to see them…even if I just left the hairdresser and had rollers in the back of my hair.  I was happy to find out when I arrived that they were already seated outside, so that saved me some embarrassment.

On Saturday, Kai and I had a lunch date with Sandra at Ruby’s, a home-cookin’ restaurant on 5th Avenue.  The restaurant was awesome! The most intriquing part was that Ms. Ruby had clippings from the Gainesville Sun all the way back to the 50s! It was like stepping back in history.  Oh, not to mention that the food was off the chain. I ordered smothered catfish (yes smothered in gravy), mashed potatoes, and strawberry mango sweet tea.  Can’t beat that with a stick!
